Development Site in West Harlem
Construction of a project with two residential towers is planned in West Harlem on a through-the-block site that stretches from West 128th Street and West 129th Streets. The project is currently in the design phase and plans are being approved by the Department of Buildings. Under current zoning, we expect to build as of right on this site, a project with two buildings, an 8-story on W129th Street and a 10-story on W128th Street. The project was designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects, a New York firm with extensive experience in residential design. The facade features a well-structured interplay of traditional red brick, elegant white limestone, and modern glass.
The buildings will include a mix of studios, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments. Building amenities will include a fitness gym, a residence lounge, and landscaped gardens in the ground-floor courtyard between the two buildings, as well as a sumptuous roof-top amenity space, for relaxing or partying. This exciting new project will be well positioned to take advantage of the current boom in West Harlem and will bring a mix of new apartments to the community.
The proposed 128th Street entrance would feature a grand two-story lobby entrance with dramatic marble tiles giving the building a sense of luxurious living from the moment one first enters its doors. The lobby will have a reception space where doorman and staff can tend to the residents' needs, as well as private conversation nooks.
